Honeypot checker API
Robinhood Chain honeypot checker and token tax API
The Crius security API tells you whether a Robinhood Chain token can be sold, what it really charges on buys and sells, and whether its contract or Uniswap v4 hook can change the rules. Tax is measured from real trades and backed by a simulated buy, transfer and sell, so hook taxes and selective honeypots are caught too.

What you get
Built for Robinhood Chain, not bolted on
-
Measured, not guessed
Buy and sell tax from real trades (what the pool sent versus what the wallet got), so Uniswap v4 hook fees count as tax.
-
Simulation
A buy → transfer → sell sequence simulated at the head block;
fresh=1re-runs it on demand. -
Selective honeypots
Flags tokens where only some wallets can sell, and records the reason.
-
Contract and hook flags
Ownership, mint, pause, blacklist, proxy and tax/limit setters, plus v4 hook permissions like
can_modify_swap_amountsorcan_block_swaps. -
Tax history
Every tax change with the block it took effect, so a token that flips to 99% sell tax can't hide it.
-
Liquidity summary
Locked, burned and unlocked LP shares in the same response.

Use cases
- Pre-trade checks in bots and wallets
- Token scanners and badges
- Launchpad listing filters
- Risk dashboards
- Alerting on tax changes (`tax:<token>` stream)
Plans and limits
Security checks cost 1 credit on every plan (keyless calls included). A fresh simulation (fresh=1) costs 20 credits and needs Starter or higher.
Questions about the Honeypot checker API
How does the honeypot check work?
Two ways at once: realized sells (does anyone actually manage to sell, at what tax) and a simulated buy, transfer and sell at the head block. A token is flagged as a honeypot, or as selective when only some wallets can sell.
Can a token's tax change later?
Yes, if its contract or hook allows it. The response flags can_change_tax, records every change in tax_history, and the tax:<token> stream pushes changes live.
Why does a Pons token show a buy tax?
Fees taken by a Uniswap v4 hook are a tax from the trader's point of view. Crius measures what the pool sent against what the wallet received, so hook fees appear as buy or sell tax.
Is the honeypot checker free?
The security check costs 1 credit and works without a key, so it's covered by the free plan's 1,000,000 monthly credits. Forcing a fresh simulation costs 20 credits on Starter or higher.
